Goa could aptly be named as "the land of the game and the free!" It tends to liberate you with it's comfortable, easy-going, laid-back style where "Mānana" is reserved for work and worry, while you live life to the hilt, today.
Goa's legendary beaches are its major draw. The coast line is dotted with beaches that extend to a total length of around 125 km. The distinctive pattern is that the beaches in the south of Goa offer beautiful, glittering soft white sand and relative isolation, being lesser populated. However, if you're the gregarious kind and happier in the midst of crowds, then it's the North Goa beaches that you need to head for. These beaches are more red and made up of coarser sand. But it does offer more fun and frolic in a well populated social setting. A visit to some of the more popular beaches like Baga and Anjuna would provide all the distractions and attractions that you could want. These beaches are home to shacks that provide fresh sea food and drinks in an earthy, unpretentious setting. Colva beach in South Goa deserves special mention here as the queen of the White sand beaches.
