The fabled Malabar Coast of modern-day Kerala had fired the imagination of generations of sailors and soldiers of fortune during the heyday of the European discovery era aboard their mighty sailing ships. It was in May 1498 that Vasco da Gama braved the rough seas to sail around the Cape of Good Hope to finally set foot at Calicut on the coast of Kerala. He loaded his ships with luxury goods to prove that he had indeed reached the fabled Malabar Coast, when returning to LIsbon in 1499.
Today, your journey would be more relaxed and not as arduous. But, it would be every bit as wondrous and exciting as then.

Arrive at Thiruvananthapuram. Transfer to your Hotel in Kovalam with a spectacular view of the famous Kovalam Beach.

After a hearty breakfast, visit the Padmanabhapuram Palace, an authentic historical example of typical Kerala architecture. In the evening, enjoy yourself at the beach.

Proceed for Kumarakom en route visit Napier Museum & Art Gallery at Thiruvananthapuram. Check in at hotel- Leisure.

Kumarakom - Backwaters' Cruise |
Breakfast. Proceed to Alleppey. Transfer to the houseboat - enjoy the cruise through the backwaters of Kerala.

Backwaters - Thekkady |
After an early breakfast at houseboat, drive to the Periyar Wildlife Reserve at Thekkady. Check in at Hotel. Enjoy lunch and an afternoon at leisure. Boat ride at the Periyar sanctuary in the evening.

Visit the Periyar wildlife sanctuary for an early morning boat ride on the beautiful Periyar Lake. Breakfast at Hotel. Take a spice plantations' tour later in the morning. Return to the hotel for lunch. The rest of the day is at lesisure.

After an early Breakfast at Hotel, Check out and drive onwards through thickly forested, verdant hillsides to the beautiful hill-station of Munnar. Check in at Hotel. Enjoy a relaxed lunch at the hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.

After breakfast, proceed on a visit to Rajamala (the natural habitat of the nilgiri thar), Mattuppetty & Kundala Lake. Return to the hotel in time for lunch.

Munnar - Cochin |
An early breakfast at the hotel is followed by departure for Cochin. Check-in at your hotel on arrival. The afternoon is at leisure. In the evening, proceed on a shopping-cum-sunset cruise across the harbour by motor boat. Dinner will be served at the coffee shop of the hotel on return.
Overnight at the hotel.

After a breakfast at the hotel, depart on a sightseeing city tour of Cochin. Lunch at the hotel and afternoon at leisure. Later in the evening, take in a captivating performance of Kathakali, a ritualistic dance drama.

Early morning breakfast. Proceed for a short trekking excursion to the nearby Edakkal caves. Lunch en route is follwed by a short and exciting safari at the Tholpetty wildlife sanctuary. The safari is organized and managed by the forest department.
